The Confederate flags were taken down a year ago in the city of Lexington, but in just a week and half they will be downtown again.

Members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) plan to display several flags during the Lee-Jackson Days event.

"It's not over.  We're not going to let the issue die," said Brandon Dorsey, Commander of the SCV.

Dorsey tells us national group leaders are organizing to have some 30 to 40 people take the flags downtown, during the two day event.  They will hold the flags while standing underneath the flag poles.

"Many of them will be in uniform, which I think proves the point of why we are here.  We are about the soldiers, nothing else," said Dorsey.

Lexington's City Manager tells WSLS that as long as the SCV members do not block the sidewalks, there should not be an issue.  City Council banned all non-government flags from flying on Lexington flag poles in October of 2011.

Dorsey says he still plans to file a lawsuit, hopefully in the coming weeks, trying to get that flag pole ordinance reversed.
